Triumph of the Will

In 1935 a German director by the name of Leni Riefenstahl finished production on her latest movie "Triumph of the Will" starring Adolf Hitler and the Nazi army before World War I when he was just a politician.  This propaganda film is a wonderful presentation of "documentarist's art" with the visual documentation of the entities that have a serious effect on the world even to this day.  The film shows the Nazi Party rally in Nuremberg, Germany when Adolf Hitler and his entire dictatorial regime marching through the streets with hundreds to thousands of others against the Nazi cause.  The film is plotted to show Hitler as a great man that is the right guy for the job and shows all the Nazi solders as shown below to create a Visual fear that know one has the ability to go up against the "Powerful" force that is their army.

The film was highly beneficial to Hitler and his cause but was in my opinion a terrible "threat" if that was an intention of the documentary because it gave the country's that were not wanting to get involved to realize that they will probably have to intervene to stop this world issue.

  1. Nice intro. How about the image you posted or other aspects of the film? How does the film function in terms of its visual impact? Why do you think certain scenes were filmed? What is the message of the film?
