What is Politics?

The term Politics is used very often and can be considered a broad definition. When one thinks of politics the word that comes to mind associated with it is Government.  Politics is all the work that is involved with the government of people or an area.  This area is not limited to only certain places;  each country has there own government that they follow and not all are the same.  Politics is everywhere and can be considered just about anything.  This can range from the laws mad for the citizens to follow all the way to the officials who are given the responsibility to make sure the citizens follow the rules passed.  This is essentially the actual definition of what the term Politics is.
This image is a sort of goof to give a good laugh but does incorporate what Politics really is.  It shows how broad of an idea the term Politics can be and how everyone can have their own idea at what it is.  Politics can range from a single person controlling a government which is known as a Dictator to having the citizens be the ones to make the decisions which is known as a Democracy.  Because of the fact that many countries have different governments which can conflict with others does not mean that they do not still have alliances to each other.  Governments still have to follow simple basic rules to each other as not a privilege but as a responsibility to each other.  In conclusion the simplest term is that Politics is everything around the governance of the citizens and the places and things all around them.

  1. Can there be politics outside of government? If so, can you think of an example of a political image that is not associated with the government or political process? For instance, can advertisements for ordinary products be politically charged?
