It has all come down to this..

With the presidential debates going on and the battle for our next president is underway it seems as though the decisions to who will win this is a toss up.  The cartoon shown gives a humorous insight to how the debate gets depicted as. The fight obviously is between the electoral votes.  For President Obama those are most of the states bordering the Great Lakes, those in the Northeast and most of New England, the West Coast, New Mexico and Hawaii. Mitt Romney looks like receiving most of the Mountain West and the Midwest, along with much of the South, Indiana and Alaska.
In the picture it shows the two candidates battling for the last vote to win the campaign and its down to this one woman.  The way the cartoon is displaying by what the woman says is very outrageous and can be offensive yes but the depiction shows the way in which people actually do view the ones who are running for our country is beyond me.  How do ones look at these people in this way to be this cynical and drastic is extreme measures and thoughts but the comedic entity also comes from the outrageous cartoons displayed all the time.

  1. There is another way of looking at this image. What is remarkable in this campaign is how few undecided voters there are. There has been a lot of discussion in the media about 'uninformed undecided voters' and how both campaigns are trying to win them over. Many have blamed the negative tone of the campaign on this fact. To 'get' cartoons one must be very well informed - the political cartoons in particular are very often 'inside' jokes.
