The First of many Presidential Debates

Christopher Morris / VII for TIME
In the first Presidential Debate of 2012 at the University of Denver on October 3rd both the candidates Mitt Romney and Barack Obama went in with good and bad points.  What started out as what should be a very inspirational debate turned into a straight butt kicking by Romney to our present President who seemed very timid throughout the debate.  Romney was extremely calm, clear, and convincing in his speaking unlike President Obama who seemed to almost be speaking gibberish and not really doing anything to help his cause out at all.  President Obama seemed cool calm and collective but maybe a little too cool where he seemed to be timid and body language looked like he had accepted defeat in the first debate unlike Governor Romney who showed poise when speaking and when speaking acted assured of what he was saying, even when he was completely full of what he was saying.  The election has now heated up and it seems that Romney may be a little further ahead in the running after the debate like that.  It shall be interesting to see how the next couple of months play out and I cannot wait to see it unfold.  But for now I shall say that Obama has been beat up and shut down by Romney so far.

  1. How did you watch the debate? What do you mean by saying that Pres. Obama "seemed to almost be speaking gibberish"? Did you watch the actual debate or press coverage of the debate? It is interesting how different people's reactions were depending how they watched the debate. Your entries should be more detailed and specific. Always comment on images you post - that's a very interesting photo.
